PLYMOUTH, Michigan – August 1, 2011– Helm, a leading national provider of specialty fulfillment and branding support solutions, has relocated. After 35 years in Highland Park, Michigan, Helm moved its headquarters on August 1, to a new facility in nearby suburban Plymouth.

“This move is extremely important for us and I’m very excited about it,” said Justin Gusick, Helm vice-president. “It’s very difficult to leave Highland Park, after all, we’ve spent almost four decades here growing the company into the great enterprise it is today. But on the other hand, I’m very happy about what this move means for us—it shows how far we’ve come.”

Helm opened its doors in 1943. Originally a trade publication bindery, over the years the company expanded into branded merchandise, fulfillment, and related support services while also establishing itself as the nation’s largest provider of factory-authorized automotive service and owner manuals. Today, Helm works with some of the world’s biggest and best-known companies developing, implementing, and assisting with their marketing programs. The Highland Park location was home to its administrative and warehouse operations since 1976.

“Our company has evolved considerably and grown exponentially. As our business model changed, the Highland Park facilities didn’t meet our needs anymore,” added Bob Malkiewicz, Helm senior vice president. “It was time to ensure we would be able to address our clients’ current and future requirements. We also wanted to create an upgraded, more customer-oriented office environment. I know our clients will like coming here and seeing this giant stride we’re taking into the future. I think they’ll be as excited as we are.”

The move is one more key step in Helm’s growth and expanding leadership role in its field. The company recently rebranded itself and is streamlining its processes and adding new services and technological capabilities to better serve its clients.

While the Helm headquarters has moved to Plymouth, the company’s warehouse will remain in Highland Park for now. Later this year, Helm will open a second storage facility in Livonia—about six miles from the new headquarters. Eventually all Helm operations will be based in the Plymouth and Livonia locations.
