Helm Helps at Forgotten Harvest
Here at Helm, we work to build great business solutions, great employees, and great partnerships. We also strive to build a better community, especially this time of year. In an effort to focus on Helm’s charitable contributions, we are proud to announce the unveiling of Helm Helps.
Helm Helps is a division of Helm that focuses on giving back to the community. Our inaugural Helm Helps events took place on November 17 and 24 when teams of Helm employees volunteered their time to Forgotten Harvest, a Detroit-area non-profit dedicated to relieving hunger.
According to its website, Forgotten Harvest “rescued” 48.8 million pounds of food last year by collecting surplus prepared and perishable food from 800 sources including grocery stores, fruit and vegetable markets, restaurants, caterers, dairies, farmers, wholesale food distributors and other Health Department-approved sources. This donated food, which would otherwise go to waste, is delivered free of charge to 280 emergency food providers in the Metro Detroit area.
Our two teams spent a few hours assembling food to be delivered. Here are some great photos of our teams:
Helm and Helm Helps are dedicated to making contributions to the community. Be sure to check back for future Helm Helps adventures.
